Sorry for coming a little late to the EduHack party. My name’s Ian Lister and I’m an English language teacher at the Language Centre at Politecnico di Torino, although I was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England (see photo). I’ve lived in Italy and I’ve been teaching English here for over 30 years, over half of that time at Politecnico.
I’m interested in digital technologies and how they can be used to enhance my teaching. However, a lot of things I do with them may prove to be successful but usually follow a rather ingenuous process of trial and error. So, I’m hoping this course can bridge the gap between my curiosity-driven somewhat haphazard approach and making more informed choices about what to use and learning how to use them to their best potential.
In this period I’m also following a course on Learning Technologies in EAP (English for Academic Purposes), and it will be interesting to compare and contrast the subject matter the two courses consider and the approaches they adopt.
